EVI congratulates Professor Marcel Tanner, former Director of the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, on his appointment as the European and Developing Countries' Clinical Trials Partnership's (EDCTP) High Representative North with special focus on Europe.

In order to facilitate the harmonisation of the clinical development of placental malaria vaccine candidates, EVI organised joint workshops in 2014 in Paris and Brussels, the proceedings of which are now available in Malaria Journal

VAC2VAC is a wide ranging collaborative research project funded by IMI2 which aims to develop and validate quality testing approaches for both human and veterinary vaccines using non animal methods.  

The initiative  that  started  on  1  March 2016 aims  to  provide  the  data  to  support  the ‘Consistency Approach’ for quality control of established vaccines.  More information on the project and on the participants can now be found under the following
