The MultiMalVax Annual Meeting 2015 was held 17 - 18 November 2015 in Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium.  With a successful past year the consortium was not only able to discuss the advances in the development of liver-, blood- and mosquito-stage malaria vaccine candidates, but also to look forward to the next stage of the project, which will involve a clinical trial combining the most promising vaccine candidates.

Eric Nébié, a native of Burkina Faso, has been granted a Clinical Research and Development Fellowship from the European and Developing Countries’ Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP)/Tropical Diseases Research, World Health Organization (TDR/WHO), which will commence at EVI on 30 November 2015

During a workshop in Brussels in November 2014, hosted by the European Vaccine Initiative, key players from the European, North American and African malaria vaccine community discussed European strategies for future malaria vaccine development in a global context. This year's IVW conference is the fifth international conference and exhibition in this important series of influenza vaccine meetings, which focus on ‘Influenza Vaccination Issues’ . Please read the report of the conference.

The second annual meeting of the EU-funded project EDUFLUVAC coordinated by EVI took place on 19-20 October 2015 in Catania, Italy.  During this meeting, the consortium reviewed recent achievements and agreed on an action plan for the coming months.

A letter sent by EVI to The Economist pointing out misleading figures in the article in the 10 October edition "Breaking the fever", has been published in the latest edition in the Letters section under Science v malaria.
