Moses Phiri
Moses joined the European Vaccine Initiative as a fellow of TDR/EDCTP Clinical Research and development Fellowship. He is also a Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Zambia’s School of Medicine, in the Department of Pathology and Microbiology. He holds a PhD in Biochemistry (2019) from the North-West University (Potchefstroom, South Africa). Prior to that, he completed a master’s degree in Biochemistry (2015-2016), and another one in Chemical Pathology (12/2015). His background is in Biomedical Sciences (University of Zambia, 2011).
During his postgraduate studies, he developed keen interest in research and development for health interventions. His goal is to contribute to innovative solutions for some of the preventable poverty-related diseases. Before joining EVI as a fellow, he was doing some research in some neglected tropical diseases at the University of Zambia as well as being a visiting research fellow at the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia. Through the TDR/EDCTCP CRDF, he would like to gain more knowledge and expertise in vaccine development, and project management.
