Giovanna Milano joined EVI in January 2026 as a Project Assistant. She holds a PhD in Life Sciences from University of Siena.

Throughout her professional experience, she has developed expertise in viral diagnostics through molecular techniques and in analysing antibody responses using a range of serological methods. These experiences have provided her with a strong background in applied research in public health and infectious diseases. She is particularly passionate about epidemiology and vaccine development, especially in the field of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases.
