Launch of TRANSVAC Academy for Vaccine Researchers and Developers

European Vaccine Initiative (EVI) is thrilled to announce the launch of TRANSVAC Academy, a programme providing advanced training in specific vaccinology subjects by leading experts in the field.

The TRANSVAC training program was first established in 2018 within the EU-funded TRANSVAC2 project. Over the next 5 years, 420 trainees attended 32 training sessions before the project’s conclusion in 2023. Now, the courses have reorganized as TRANSVAC Academy to build upon these successes and continue to meet the demand for in-depth training in vaccine topics.

TRANSVAC Academy aims to bridge the knowledge gap in vaccine research and development (R&D) by offering training modules covering a wide range of subjects, from grant management to advanced process development. TRANSVAC Academy is committed to ensuring these trainings remain not only high-quality but broadly accessible. Thanks to support from the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), free registration and travel funding will be provided to selected researchers from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), and TRANSVAC courses will be held in Africa for the first time.

• Diverse training modules: our modules cover critical aspects of vaccinology, including but not limited to, process development, adjuvant formulation, clinical and preclinical statistics, animal models, production technologies, as well as grant writing and management.

• Hands-on learning: our course sizes are kept small to allow discussions and complement theory with practical, hands-on training, providing a well-rounded educational experience.

• Support for LMIC participants: to promote inclusivity and accessibility, the academy offers support to participants attending from LMICs
