The European and African partners of the EDCTP-funded project PREV_PKDL met at the University of York (United Kingdom) on 07-08 June 2018 for the project Kick-off meeting.
During the meeting, the consortium partners intensely discussed the activities planned to bring forward the clinical development of the PREV_PKDL vaccine candidate, developed by Prof Paul Kaye and his team at the University of York, and to better understand the pathogenesis of the post kala azar dermal leishmaniasis (PKDL) and the underlying immune mechanisms in different endemic settings.
