Fellows
Our Fellows
Since 2016, EVI regularly receives fellows from the European and Developing Countries’ Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP)/Tropical Diseases Research, World Health Organization (TDR/WHO)programme, providing both professional training and mentoring. Since the beginning of EVI’s involvement in the programme, researchers from sub-Saharan Africa and Colombia with different educational background and working experiences were hosted by EVI for one year in Heidelberg, Germany
EVI’s mentoring concept encourages the trainees to take personal responsibility of project tasks, offers assistance and stimulates individual creativity. Mentorship is maintained by EVI after the return of the fellows to their home institution, including the organisation of joint training sessions, e.g. on “Project management for clinical research”.
We develop close relationships with the fellows during their one-year training and we continue to support and mentor the fellows after their return to facilitate their reintegration. We expect that after successful completion of this training programme, our fellows will contribute to promote high quality research in LMICs.
